Whats the domain of the person you can't receive from? Don't need his whole email address, the part after the @ symbol. Also for testing, if you have another free account, like yahoo.com or gmail.com - have him CC that account when he sends to you.

That way if you receive on that free account but no the sbcglobal.net, at least you know for sure his server is sending out, and either 1 - AT&T is blocking the domain or IP or 2 - His server is having trouble communicating to the AT&T.

If its 1 - then he should get a bounceback, if its 2 - he will EVENTUALLY get a bounceback after his server gives up. The timeout could be set to 4 hours or 24 hours...everyone is different.

Also if its 1 and he hasn't got the bounceback - the exchange server handling his domain could be redirecting bouncebacks and never make it back to the sender.

With his domain, I can look it up and check to make sure MX and DNS/PTR records match up. If they don't then AT&T is most likely blocking.

TRy using plain text emails see if those go though.

If they do but the other emails don't are there any pictures etc.. in the other emails. It could be yahoo thinks somthing in it is a virus.

hi again,
he CCed both accounts, plain txt, (sbc, gmail) and i got both. then he emailed me at sbc and i got that one too. i wonder if att has fixed the problem since my last 'stern' call this morn?
let me check this out later today and see if i can still get his emails at sbc.
i will get back to you and let you know the outcome.
thank you for your time and help.
