No self install anymore?I was finally able to get an install date today for the 26th. I have the modem I used to use, nothing else has changed but they want to charge me a $75 install fee! The service for the HSI I ordered until the bump hits our area is $53/month. Isn't almost 1.5 times the monthly service a bit high for an install? |

Here in south MD, i did the install myself. Just called with the MAC and had HSI in like 5 minutes. Try calling tech support they might hook you up. |

Will give it a try. I want to say I spoke with Julie, but could be wrong. I didn't even try the game package route. Will call after I get setup. |

What i did was pretty easy.
Just hook everything up. Cable to modem and modem to PC. Call them again and tell them you want to activate a modem, and give them the MAC. That should do it. Just make sure is hook up correctly.
If they ask why, tell them your broke and you bought a new one. Make sure that you are on the system for HSI already. |

There is no self install in CT thats why he was asking. Its Metrocasts policy, we must do the install |

I bet one of you guys could probably do it here. As long as he is on the system that he order the service all it takes to activate the modem via MAC right? |

Face it, they're gonna hose him out of the $75. But I remember we did a self install at my office in New London back in 2003. |

Yeah, thing is when it comes to stuff like this, our hands are kind of tied. We're more than happy to help you guys (and if you check the timestamps of our posts you'll see that a lot of time we post outside of business hours), but this is where there isn't much we can do, especially seeing as there are quite a few people monitoring this forum. |

Yeah like Booticon says our hands are tied with stuff like this. And everyones accounts have records of who does what to them. Since Metrocast's policy in CT is no slef installs then we can't do anything about that |

My install day is today between 8-5, hopefully sooner than later. I have everything hooked up so basically it should be get good signals to the modem, and hand them a check. After that I am going to call in and bump the package up to the gamer package. |

The tech was here for about 25 minutes. The bigget thing he had to do was screw the new box to the side of the house that containss the ground block and climbing the pole. Other than that the longest delay was waiting on hold when he called tech support to get the modem provisioned. |

What??? That link shows a triple play for 85 bucks? It's $129 here in NH, unbelievable how shafted people are getting here. |
