alanisrox69 posted : It's simple, you have to rent the box to get HD. Not everything is free in this world. RCN offices have weekend hours, so I'm sure you could get there without affecting your work schedule.

You should be so lucky to have an office that allows pickups of boxes. My office is like a vault holding a billion dollars, and they will NOT under any circumstances give out any boxes. One must pay the truck roll fee to get a box delivered and installed.

-Derek-
--
CHECK YOUR FSLC TAXES!!!

[CATV] HD-TV box - an arbitrary necessity

abrody posted : I've attempted to resolve so far with RCN billing and they haven't yet responded to my request last Friday to look into my bill the fact that I'm unable to get HD, the support department is unwilling to mail me an HD box, the department for picking up HD boxes is inconvenient to my location and my hours, the scheduling for "service" to get an HD box delivered for me is inconvenient, and they still bill me the same as if I had HD service.

Before the switch to digital, I was able to receive HD through my QAM tuner no problem. Now with digital I must get the HD box to get HD. I've suggested to the department to mail me an HD box via FedEx or UPS, and they still won't budge. It would be cheaper for them to do that, save me time, and them money if I could simply pick it up at a FedEx or UPS location. Furthermore such a box would be excess space on my power outlet, and excess space on my home entertainment center. They should really rethink how they give HD "service" if they can't simply provide the boxes to the customer by mail. Does anyone know of a person at RCN I can contact directly to address my complaint, or the FCC, or Montgomery County Maryland?
