Re: Gas dryer VS Electric (clothes)

The week before my wife and I were planning on moving in together, her parents house caught fire due to bad ventilation from the dryer. They were running into problems with the dry sensor, or the dryer just stopping altogether from getting too hot. There was no suspicion that something was going to go wrong, but when the insurance company did their checks that came up to be the problem. It's still difficult to go over to their house after that -- 45% damage, both fire and water, and it's been 2 1/2 years since that.

Although we have been told that electric is just as bad as gas, I learned that I would much rather go with electric than gas because that was a very bad incident. I really don't think that the cost savings will be significant with 2-3 loads of clothes per week (today), but maybe in the future that will go up.
