Thought it'd be fun to see how it compared to Vista on an 'older' box first, and I must say it's surprisingly smooth. Would probably be comparable to performance of XP if not slightly better in some cases.

Probably wouldn't run as well as XP on a computer much older, I'd say their threshold for hardware requirements are a reasonable place to start. XP with lesser hardware would probably be a better choice, esp. regarding the disk space required for an installation. Currently, it looks like the Windows folder is taking up nearly 8GB. If I were using a 40GB drive, that's painfully close to 1/4 of total capacity. Hibernation + Page files would put it at almost exactly 25% of 40GB. Worth considering I guess, esp. since 'older' machines may still have drives of this size (and/or less).
<TABLE WIDTH=96% align=center border=0 CELLPADDING=4">

7 is Vista ;)
