Actually, you can change the way your name appears on caller id as long as it shows some relavance to your account or someone under your account.
I know when I had TW as my phone service, I asked if they could change my name to just my first initial and my last name and they did. But you can most definitely change what shows up on your caller ID. Just gotta make sure you talk to someone who knows what they are doing rather than telling you that you cannot.
