Complimentary Upgrade to Express

Got an email from Rogers offering a free 1 month trial upgrade to Express. Click a few links, agree to the terms, it resets your modem and you now have the speed and usage cap of Express for 30 days.

As an Ultralight user who used to have express a long time ago (downgraded to save $$) it's nice to have the higher speed again for a while. Just hope I don't get addicted to it and end up upgrading to Express after it drops back down to Ultalight speeds.

Says it's by invite only and the links in the email have long chunks of data on them. The text link is »rogers.com/speedpreview which has behind in a longer url so probably won't work unless you got an invite.

A good way to try and get you wanting faster speeds so that you will call them to get upgraded.

Smart marketing I say.

Were you grandfathered on Ultra-Lite with 60GB usage allowance? I would be very careful - they might switch you back to "new" Ultra-Lite with pathetic 2GB cap.

That's like no allowance at all, just plug the modem and watch its blinking lights as someone scans your IP, which will use up all your cap. You don't have to own a computer for their new Ultra-Lite.

LOL silly me.

I Actually though i mean its 2009 rogers might increase their speeds as a result of upgrading the network. But naaa guys this is rogers.

Of course its some silly stupid marketting gimick rip off where you pay through the ass for nothing and get locked onto a contract.

I feel sorry for all those suckers that paid a shit load of money for their iphone and got sucked into 3 years and paid top price.

You can go get a unlocked one on ebay way cheaper and get any plan you want with a sim card and leave when you want!

It's to bad as the rest of the modern world upgrades their speed their companies upgrade for free to keep customers.

Here no way. Not the GTA! ever!!

Usage based billing, caps etc. are becoming the norm. Cogeco have implemented hard caps. Upgraded networks don't mean much!
