But static IPs cost $4 per month, right? And personally I feel a static IP is a downgrade. Dynamic IPs are far preferable. I can't see why an average user would even want a static IP. Dynamic DNS services already suit my needs and I don't think an average user would even need to use a DDNS.
I would rather be paying $4 to bond two lines with a dynamic IP than be paying $4 to bond two lines with a static IP.
Also now I have to explain to people who I referred to Teksavvy that not only will they have to pay $4 to use a workaround they already bought a new router for, they will be stuck with a static IP. It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
then dont tell them about the static IP. People here need to lose the tinfoil hats. Static or Dynamic either way if you did something wrong you are going to get caught. Remember ISP's keep track of who has what IP when. And for the whole DDOS thing it's not too hard to find the IP you changed to. They will just use the same method they used to find you the first time because whereever you were once chances are you will go back again,.
