I was late on the p2p bandwagon and never used Napster,but if this is so similar I have to wonder how Napster ever became so popular in the first place

After reading that review I'd pass on it

They got so popular because Metallica brought it to the masses through mass media with their lawsuit. Most people were clueless to what an mp3 was, so after news giants such as CNN announces that you can get free music... err I mean (EVALUATE media before buying) every Tom, Dick & Harry wanted a piece of that pie! Thank Metallica for making the p2p technology take-off to where it is today.

Ok I'm sorta lost where did the author say it sucked?
Please read my other post in this thread! The author seem to say it ran well. And that the author said some of the setup related to downloads wasn't kool. But never did they say it sucked. And again this author isn't giving you the full story. Because they forgot to read everything that was stated to them by Napster. If this was a release to the full public - yes I would have issues with it! But hello it's A BETA TEST! And only 20,000 users where supposed test it in private!! But since everyone who hasn't spent any time on it or who can't simply READ has stated it sucks or they don't like it = a lot of people have decide not to test it! Or maybe there just to cheap to pay for thingz! The TEST IS FREE BY THE WAY!! Point being the software far from sucks! And I can remember when I was beta testing IMESH & so many other file share programs how people said o'h that's crap.
Now how many millions of people supossedly use IMESH? And that's just 1 example. I've beta test plenty of the others that people now rave about. And some of em where crap when I tested em but have gotten better. IMESH not being 1 of them! It now indeed is crap in my opinion only!!

That was completly my choice of words
As I stated I have never used the "old" Napster or the "new" Napster,but after reading this review I would look else IMHO

Again if you would re read my post you find that this author doesn't really know as much as you give them credit!! Crap did ya notice they don't even put there name to the post or article which ever you would prefer to call it!! And AGAIN CRYIN OUT LOUD ITZ A BETA TEST! A beta test never has everything fully working!! And AGAIN how much clearer do I have to be = NAPSTER clearly stated everything wouldn't be fully working!! Obviously the author of the article can't read!! And I quote from the front page of the software when you log in = "Your mission: to try out the new Napster and let us know what you think. We need your bug reports and feedback to create the best Napster possible. The Napster beta program is designed to test our technology. The music selection is extremely limited. When we launch, we'll have a huge catalog of songs for you to choose from." And that's just a small quote!! Since obviously you haven't gone and explored to get the facts I'll post the direct link. I would prefer you'd have looked from my site = because you'd would have seen I link all the major file share programs on 1 of my pages & you could have read my article I mentioned before - so you understand my view points. But here are the facts the true facts = »client.napster.com/help/ ··· faq.html None of this crap the author was trying to sell ya! Again ITZ A BETA TEST of SOFTWARE - not a full public release!! Meaning in the end a lot of things will & can change!! The whole point of the test is user input!!
