Re: [AB] Why is turbo so hard to get?

Well I am still waiting. The problem is my area is just no upgraded yet. Telus people on this forum were very helpful and said i am at a great location very close distance wise. Infact I think he said I am in an excellent position. Its just that they have not upgraded yet.

Shaw is still all over the map, and I dont know what to do, the one customer service guy just told me to drop to a lower package if im not happy. Thats not a solution I want.

Seems like what is missing is on the Telus side.
Possible that ports are all being occupied.

Good news is that people tend to move near the end of the month.
Check in around the 1st week of August, things may have opened up.

If no dice, PM me your details around then, and I can check a bit deeper for you.

As always, I would require your name, acct # and TN to verify.

You might check and provide info to someone without verifying if it is truly their acct. If so, be my guest.

I won't be releasing details to anyone relating to any acct unless I can verify it's theirs.

I don't require anything but the TN to check stuff, but I personally require that someone prove to me it's their acct before I give them any details about it.

Bingo.. that's what I do as well - I go one further and personally call and verify as if they were calling in to a csr.

They will still have a contact number on file for the person. I have dry service with Telus and when they want to get a hold of me they never seem to have much problems...

Your looking at the trust issue from from only one angle. My main point is, how is the customer to know that you actually work for Telus?

How do you propose I prove I work for Telus?
Do you release information about an acct based solely on TN?

Our view is looking at it from the "I don't want to loose my job" point of view.
Releasing information specific to any customer (without verifying) is a breach of policy... Personally I'd prefer not to get canned for posting anything here.

You've been around long enough to build credibility.

Anyways, all I'm trying to say here is that phishing could become a problem if you guys aren't careful. a TN is sufficient to tell a person if they qualify for 6mbps/turbo etc but I totally agree that you would need to verify identity for anything else.

thank you.. and if all they want is a simply yes you can get it.. no you can not, that's absolutely correct. But from what it sounded like.. the offer to look into it would have a bit more detail.

You're also correct in having to be very careful who you give your information to. The casual reader of this forum may not know who is legit and who is not.

To those people, no one on this board (to my knowledge - including myself) is posting information or assisting people here as part of our job.. we only do this to help in our spare time, very few have been verified as actual TELUS employees... when in doubt as to who is asking for your information check their posting history or ask a question publicly first.

That is actually something that I have talked to state about. We are going to go about verifying all of you Telus employees. I want to eventually put information in Telus FAQ in order to try and avoid exactly what you and playboy2000 have been talking about in this thread. Just a matter of time and some technical details.
