I'm considering changing from my local telco in Thunder Bay to the "Digital Phone Lite" and was wondering if anyone in the area has had experiences with such. The lite plane will save me money monthly while still providing calling to Southern Ontario.
I'm in Sault Ste. Marie and bundled the Lite pkg. with Shaw's High Speed to save money and get away from the evil empire. I have not had any problems at all. In our case we don't need a long distance plan so Shaw Lite at 4 cents per minute is fine. No technical issues, they took care of cancelling Bell and properly setting up the monitored home security system.
I just moved to Vancouver and I decided to go with Shaw phone for the bundle and I have to say I like it.
it has a unit that they set up and includes a battery and its on a seperate cable line (well I imagine outside its the same line but in the house I mean) so it does not rely on your cable modem at all.
phone calls are clear and quick and so far no problems at all.
I have had it about 1 month now.
I did get one telemarketer call though was not impressed with that but par with the course now a days I suppose.
