Download problemsMy new embarq internet is working great (relatively fast, but still no reliable streaming video). Only one problem. When I download a file using IE8, it just quits before it reaches 1MB and won't restart. This was happening before I did the upgrade with IE7 as well, and I have never had this problem with satellite (HughesNet). The microsoft update downloads work fine, but something like downloading google earth or a powerpoint file, or a video just stops... Any ideas? |

Register here. Send me an IM with your number and I can check out your line. Also, what type of connection, wired or wireless? Filtered or splittered? What download speeds are you getting? When did it start? Any other issues you can identify? |

Can't remember my number. I'll get it though. -Wireless connection (using Belkin router) -no filters installed (so splittered I guess) -pretty slow download speeds, between 500k-1mb/sec -haven't been able to download a large file since I started Embarq on Monday -no other internet problems |

you might want to make sure that your service IS infact splittered.. the fact that you are lacking filters doesn't mean you are splittered.. it could mean you are filtered, don't have any filters installed, and that would be the cause of the problem right there. |
