Re: My cat is reluctant to exercise. No, the links and advice are fine. It's your tone of righteous indignation and melodramatic delivery of the advice I find nothing short of hilarious. I am surprised you expect someone to listen to what you say when you speak in that manner. People don't respond well to it, although I guess that's what makes you a great cat person. I took kitty out again with leash today. One person asked if "she" was pregnant, two people said "what a big fucking cat", and a few girls thought he was cute. He cannot climb trees to save his life, and ran away from the pigeons. He is afraid of tree climbing. I let him go exploring for an hour, and let him walk me. Each time, he ran back into the FEMALE BATHROOM. Regardless of where I picked him up and brought him to he always found his way back to the women's bathroom. he also liked to run and jump into the pile of leaves and roll around. |

Well since you did not state your gender, I'll make a non-politically-incorrect assumptive statement: The cat might just be your ticket to meeting women.. |

I love politically incorrect statements. I am a man, and I was thinking the same thing. He does so much funny strange shit in the park that he can't help getting attention. |

So next time someone says "oh what a cute cat", play dumb and ask her for advice. You never know where it may lead..... By the way - what ever happened with the Blackberry 8703 that the ripoff store sold you a few months ago? |

Worry more about having fun with your new friend then his weight and remember he probably looks at you and thinks why are you so skinny. Wayne |

Yes.
If I pet him, he goes away after 5 seconds. If I pretend he doesn't exist, he rubs up on my leg, my shoe, my arm, until I acknowledge that he exists.
He's a tricky creature. |

All my cats over the years (when we used to let them out) would come down head first and end up gaining speed on the trip down because they couldnt stop themselves as easily, these were cats who were only 7-10 pounds. Hopefully yours realizes his weight and "backs" down slowly or something. |

I adopted a Maine Coon that HAD to have been abused before I got him.... For six months he wouldn't stay in the same room as you. If you moved he hid... It took two YEARS to get him to let me pet him without having to chase him first. After he decided I was NOT going to kill him, we became best buds... He was ALWAYS in my lap DEMANDING to be petted, he was quite the lovable cat. |

It looked like he had a tree branch growing out of his side. Maybe you shouldn't let him go up more than 5 or 6 feet. |

I have no say in the matter. He tells me which way we're going to walk, when we're going to take a break, when we're going to pee on the cat owner, and when we're going to climb up a tree. |

In other words, he didn't listen to anyone, kept letting him go leash free/letting go of the leash, and is now too embarrassed to come in here and say "hey everyone was right and I was wrong". I'm sorry, I'm a lot less protective than most of the pet lovers on here, but letting a cat roam in a busy urban area is irresponsible, and you should not be going out and getting another cat. Try a goldfish first, when you can keep it around for a year, you can graduate to a gerbil. said by thender:I have no say in the matter. Cats are willful, but they can be trained to understand that the "pink meatsack that feeds them" also bigger than them and is therefore the one that calls the shots when push comes to shove. This statement again shows that you are just not ready for cat ownership, and while your willingness to adopt one is laudable, you should be discouraged from doing so. |

Yeah, it kind of looks that way. Either that, or the cat missed the mind-altering drugs. |
