Dathon posted : I have been getting high pings and some slow browsing the last few months and I'm fed up with it. I tried changing to OpenDNS servers, but that didn't help. I'm now wondering if the bandwidth in my area is oversaturated.

I get packet loss, and also when trying to stream Netflix, it always tells me that my "internet connection has slowed". This is just unacceptable and I'm now looking at alternatives to Time Warner.

I have an older Motorola SB5100, and a Linksys WRT320N, using wired.

Here is ping test with D rating to the Austin server. I usually get D or F ratings. Never better.

tracert www.yahoo.comTracing route to www-real.wa1.b.yahoo.com [69.147.76.15]over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1 2 * * * Request timed out. 3 11 ms 9 ms 8 ms gig3-9.austtxr-rtr2.austin.rr.com [66.68.1.41] 4 9 ms 25 ms 10 ms Gi0-2-4-3.austtxrdcsc-rtr2.austin.rr.com [24.27.13.62] 5 26 ms 17 ms 15 ms gig6-3-0.dllatxl3-rtr1.texas.rr.com [72.179.205.76] 6 23 ms 26 ms 28 ms gig3-3-0.hstntxl3-rtr1.texas.rr.com [72.179.205.95] 7 31 ms 39 ms 22 ms xe-10-3-0.bar1.Houston1.Level3.net [4.79.88.21] 8 21 ms 20 ms 35 ms ae-0-11.bar2.Houston1.Level3.net [4.69.137.134] 9 43 ms 71 ms 36 ms ae-7-7.ebr1.Atlanta2.Level3.net [4.69.137.142] 10 49 ms 37 ms 35 ms ae-63-60.ebr3.Atlanta2.Level3.net [4.69.138.4] 11 67 ms 52 ms 53 ms ae-2.ebr1.Washington1.Level3.net [4.69.132.86] 12 58 ms 54 ms 53 ms ae-91-91.csw4.Washington1.Level3.net [4.69.134.142] 13 56 ms 53 ms 51 ms ae-41-99.car1.Washington1.Level3.net [4.68.17.195] 14 63 ms 62 ms 77 ms 4.79.228.2 15 64 ms 68 ms 61 ms ae2-p150.msr2.re1.yahoo.com [216.115.108.61] 16 54 ms 59 ms 52 ms te-9-4.bas-a1.re1.yahoo.com [66.196.112.207] 17 65 ms 59 ms 62 ms f1.www.vip.re1.yahoo.com [69.147.76.15]
