Re: Recent DSLAM changes in Ottawa?

said by STN:

Will either one of them give you the ATU-C (DSLAM) chipset vendor? May isolate what hardware you are connected to. Also, do you know if this has changed since December (previously one vendor, now another)?
Both lines show ALCB as the vendor on the remote end. No change from before, either. It's been ALCB here for years.

I'm speculating a s/w upgrade of some kind at the DSLAM is what produced the new behaviours.

I would think it's usually quite the opposite as well, during summer copper will expand and will usually see your SNR drop a little.

Not to hijack this thread or anything, but I have two DSL lines at home bonded over a small cisco router and one of them syncs at 3008/800 and other 3008/512, go figure, I'm unable to get it to sync at 800 even though the lines are coming in the same loop.

512 is a rather coincidental number. There is a 3008/800 profile and a 3008/512 profile. Any chance your second port is on the 3008/512 profile?
