Suddenlink speed tests!!

Hey Gator or anyone else in the Greenville/Eastern North Carolina area. Now that the students are back in town from the long xmas break, can you do some speed tests from around between 6pm-12am so I can see how they are or if they are still fluctuating and all? Thanks!

Man, I've done a million of these already. Just switch already. I did.

distant server..

Now some java tests..

»web100.rit.edu:7123/

** Starting test 1 of 1 **
Connected to: web100.rit.edu -- Using IPv4 address
Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done
checking for firewalls . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done
running 10s outbound test (client-to-server [C2S]) . . . . . 1.46Mb/s
running 10s inbound test (server-to-client [S2C]) . . . . . . 9.34Mb/s
The slowest link in the end-to-end path is a 10 Mbps Ethernet subnet

»ndt1.ncren.net:7123/

** Starting test 1 of 1 **
Connected to: ndt1.ncren.net -- Using IPv4 address
Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done
checking for firewalls . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done
running 10s outbound test (client-to-server [C2S]) . . . . . 1.44Mb/s
running 10s inbound test (server-to-client [S2C]) . . . . . . 12.28Mb/s
The slowest link in the end-to-end path is a 10 Mbps Ethernet subnet
Information: Other network traffic is congesting the link
[S2C]: Packet queuing detected

»jlab4.jlab.org:7123/

** Starting test 1 of 1 **
Connected to: jlab4.jlab.org -- Using IPv4 address
Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done
checking for firewalls . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done
running 10s outbound test (client-to-server [C2S]) . . . . . 1.40Mb/s
running 10s inbound test (server-to-client [S2C]) . . . . . . 13.16Mb/s
The slowest link in the end-to-end path is a 10 Mbps Ethernet subnet
Information: Other network traffic is congesting the link
[S2C]: Packet queuing detected

Overall, I saw quite a bit of speed fluxing during the java tests. They use a larger transfer size, over the flash tests.

I should add, all these tests, were faster than anything you can get from CL right now in our area.

I have the 15/1.5 package for reference.

A bit more of a hit on some of these tests than the earlier ones. Going to add some pings now.

Arrggg... I had done a bunch of speed tests, and pings, and my browser crashed..

Overall, it looked about the same as all the others I've done tonight, and every other thread I've made on speeds.

I have seen some slowdowns at different times of day. No question about it. Whatever is going on, doesn't seem to be killing pings though.

I'm seeing speeds anywhere from 9mb to 21mb, and my ping times have dramatically decreased.

I was VERY worried with ECU kids coming back but my connection hasn't really been affected (so far).

You may not have the newest config. I'd try calling in to see what they say.

Have they Officially released the 15/1.5 in our area? I just called Suddenlink and he said I am suppose to be on the 10/768 told him i was suppose to have fastest tier and he said that was 10 down?
When i informed him that other people in Greenville are getting 15/ 1.5 he frantically searched to find the tier for me and was unable too? some help from a suddenlink rep would be nice here!!!

Yeah Greenville has had 15/1.5 since before Christmas. Go to channel 1 and you'll see the new tiers.
