Speed upgrades? New tiers? Free?I currently have 10/2 service, paying 42$ per month. My contract has expired ages ago.
I have their basic phone service, but will be canceling it and don't plan on bundling anything else.
No TV.
Currently in my area they have killed the 10/2 tier and moved everything to 15/5 at a higher price.
Is it possible to get a "free" upgrade to 15/5 from 10/2? |

There are no more 'free' FiOS speed upgrades any longer...You will pay the current stand-alone price for any tier you want... |

» www.rapidsys.com/wirelin ··· tial.asp34.95 for 10/2 , rapidsys is a Verizon FIOS ( and DSL ) reseller Now the 75 dollar setup fee will eat alot if those "savings" , buts it is an alternative Also, unlike Verizon, if you have ANY server on the rapidsys account, they will require you get the business account, Verizon doesn't pay any attention to this. |

DSL Extreme is also a FIOS reseller. They offer the 10/2 package at $39.95/mo » www.dslextreme.com/Servi ··· ult.aspx |

Since your contract has expired so long ago. I would threaten to cancel all together unless they can throw something in for you. Try working in the 15/5 tier upgrade. Its unlikely they will give you that, but you will most likely get something off your bill. Worth a try. |

At work, we're still working with the original 5/2 for 39.95. Phone is separate, not bundled. If we change internet, it will cost us more. As long as the original price doesn't change, neither are we. If VZ changes the price, we'll re-evaluate our service tier.
If you drop the phone line, you'll probably trigger a new service level because they'll have to enter something not tied to a phone service and legacy services are not available as change orders of that nature. You'll have to work with current service levels, and good luck with getting any breaks because you're going internet-only.
A discount would be more likely if you ordered multiple services. |

I had the 10/2, and through a lengthy fone call, upgraded to the 15/5 with a 1yr commitment for the same price, 42.99. Now, I do have a landline attached to this service, so mebe that made a difference, duno.. When I login to my acct on verizon.com, it doesnt say 15/5, says somethin bout retention. (i forget the exact term)
Anyways, when you call in, mention how the cable operator in your area is offering a better deal, and you were thinkin of switching. If that doesnt work, ask firmly to speak to retentions. Then dont knuckle under. worked for me.
