Another pet peeve I have is that the "Guide" and "iO" buttons do the same thing. The "Guide" button should open the damn guide, NOT the iO menu. This only makes the Guide experience even worse.

People have complained about this for years now. They beg for help from Wilt hoping he can wave his magic wand. Well his group is what caused this monstrosity. He is great at helping people 1-on-1 so if you have a problem with a frayed cable...he's the man to ensure it's fixed right. But in terms of these larger systemic issues, he will never even discuss them...let alone get them fixed.

Perhaps if the rumors of new boxes are true then maybe the hardware can help out. However, I really doubt it will address our concerns. What kind of nonsense is this in 2010? I'm not asking for a lot here, interactive guides are not cutting edge-- this is basic functionality. They're hyping all this new stuff with the "C" button, yet the freakin' basic UI experience is balls. My mother has Time Warner in Manhattan, and whatever other problems they might have, their guide system is brisk and responsive.

I don't know what a complaint call will do for me; I already checked my signals in the tech-menus, and everything appears to be within spec....

Primarily noticeable when trying to scroll around the program guide.

I never thought I'd say it, but I wish it would go back to like it was for years, slow.

It's now become extremely slow.

It may be time to get off my ass and take a Satellite promo deal... THen at least I can watch College Lacrosse on ESPNU. And try the NFL Ticket next year. Ive been itching for it for years its time to give it a shot. I would like to be able to follow College Lacrosse on ESPNU it doesn't seem Cablevision will ever carry it. Aggravating considering Long Island is probably the biggest Lacrosse market in the country.

Like pressing down 3 times and nothing happens... so you do it one more time.. then it suddenly goes down 4 times.
Or in your case pressing a 0 to start typing a 4 digit and getting nothing... then it suddenly appears. But only while in the GUide, it works fine otherwise.
its the GUIDE.
Keep in mind that the LIST or DVR menu screen is snappy like it should be.

Now it seems its very slow to respond to inputs from the remote.
FWIW, the DVR menu system is snappy as ever but the Program guide is now useless other than to slowly look up and down.... If you are trying to cruise the guide looking to set up recordings, for example, its completely unusable because of the slow response.
