Sounds like that High somewhere in the Atlantic off of Maine is either weakening or moving out/up allowing the Low with the snow to be closer to the coast and northerly.

Can't see fully from the maps on your site, but does what I'm saying seem accurate?

Sounds about right Rx. The low is predicted to be just a bit closer that previously forecast.

Figure the High north will tend to keep the low south and east while at the same time drive moisture from the east.

There is also a low moving into the Ohio valley that may add moisture

Not real easy to see but the low is now forecast to be a bit north of this predicted position

When I was in that area, I hired somebody "full-time"
he had a standing order to get my sidewalk so he didn't have to find me or me find him. Worked for years till I moved out here. Usually paid him double after the first snow so he got the next one (pre-paid)
Don't know if I would rely on kids, but there are those individuals around who consider it a second job income (my guy was sheriff's department-city).

Well I abandoned my car in it's parking place in front of my townhouse. It can stay there 'till tomorrow. We might walk out to the Austin Grill for some Tex Mex just for the exercise and to burn some calories.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Should be rain, sleet and snow. Maybe an inch by morning.

It started snowing a little before 6:30 here; sticking to sidewalks, cars and grassy spots about 7:30. Roadways are just wet. I haven't been down to the street, but from up here it looks to be about an inch and a half. Still too warm for anything to accumulate on my balcony, either. Temp is just at 32.

Was a rain event here. Good news is I got to sleep in and not worry about digging out to get to work.

Yes, it was. No time to snap any pictures this morning, though.

Heck, all the streets were plowed *and* the schools are closed, so it was the easiest commute so far this year...guess that means we'll really get clobbered this weekend.

I stopped down at Pohick Church and walked through the cemetery before I had to go to work. No particular reason except they have lovely old trees and it was quick to get to.

This snow was nice, next one maybe not so nice.

That's a pretty part of town. Maybe I'll try to make it down there after this storm to see how things look.
