Despite the CV product being "shittier"; i.e., abominable, amiss, atrocious, awful, cheesy, crappy, cruddy, crummy, deficient, dissatisfactory, dreadful, garbage, godawful, icky, inadequate, inferior, junky, lousy, not good, poor, slipshod, stinking, substandard, the pits, unacceptable, unsatisfactory, when compared to FiOS.

Because money is by far, the average person's (not the nerds here) driving motivation. They deal with inconveniences to save $$.
They don't care that their STB is slow as Michael Moore on a stepper, and the IPG is woefully outdated. They're generally not aware that their HD is over-compressed to fit into an outdated network infrastructure. They have no clue their internet is running at less than 20% of its' advertised speeds. If they did, CV would be out of business, and you, out of a job here.
