How is your PP voice quality?

Have had PP before several years ago and had a lot of problems with the delay time when you talk and the other person responds, was very bad if you had someone on the other end with a cell phone you were always talking over each other...also had bad echo problems....how is it these days?

Have had PP for about three months and can honestly say have not had even one hiccup. Quality is great and I don't have any of the issues you speak of. Coming from Viatalk (which was also very good) I was worried about PP not having a fail over number but it has been a non issue so far.

Since your issue seemed to start suddenly it almost sounds like a broadband issue.

I agree with the second poster; your broadband QOS or ISP routing sucked? I had problems in the past with Verizon and they moved me to a new router. Also keep in mind the sever(s) are in Cali which will create some lag which is noticeable if the circumstances line up. Not picking on PP this is just the nature of the beast.

Ex. I have an old friend who loves to use speakerphone or crank the volume up. Well this could easily create a echo with any VoIp provider. Now this person has Charter which does not play well with VoIp so he is on random ports.

Can you see now why VoIp can be a royal PITA at times? So many things that PP has no control over that can turn a Cadillac into a Jeep, lol.

Went to order today and their website kept crashing so call them to order...keep in mind I am using a land line and the echo and delay on their end was the same as three years ago...and they immediately tried to blame my ISP, sorry to say I wasn't even hooked up to them...same crap as before....pass.

Yeah pal they are crap, that is why they are one of the top GBU rated companies .

The owners also founded DSLExtreme a very successful company. There is more I was going to say but won't because I don't want to get modded. Might I suggest you go with ViaTalk they will provide the quality you deserve.

Some of us with U-verse have had problems with very intermittent, brief "gaps" in the incoming sound. I never really noticed it until I started doing long conference calls for work.

I also have intermittent issues with my voice echoing.

Overall it works well though.

i had comcast digital voice and POTS from verizon, my service on a 12mbps line with PP has been comparable if not better than comcast and MUCH better than verizon due to the condition of the copper in my house. I'm very happy with PP
