Did you try a "Startup Repair"?:

Also, can you double-check the system driver in question as ndvxnw.sys does not appear to be a Windows file.
Yes, Startup Repair is the default option for Windows 7 Repair using the installation disc. As far as the file ndvxnw.sys, I am puzzled where it came from. A google search revealed nothing .

Your first job is to stop the tears of your sister and backup all her data. From the startup/repair menu you can get to a command prompt and copy all of her data to external media. Just make sure the device is attached before you boot the computer. I'm fairly sure XCOPY is a valid command in Vista/WIN7 repair, so you can copy masses of files at one time with wild cards. If you need help with the command, let us know.

Also, there is a similar situation in the following link:

http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistarepair/thread/a779b921-d83e-4385-bfde-724614181f7d

The OS is Vista but would apply to Windows 7.

What worked was to delete the file in question, in your case ndvxnw.sys, from the C:\Windows\Sytem32\Drivers folder.

There are various ways to access the C:\Windows\Sytem32\Drivers folder such as using a bootable recovery CD such as Knoppix.

You could also try opening a command prompt at Startup:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/682-command-prompt-startup.html

Use the command prompt to navigate to the C\Windows\Sytem32\Drivers folder and then delete the ndvxnw.sys.

Type cd C:\Windows\System32\drivers at the command prompt and press "Enter" and then type del ndvxnw.sys and press "Enter".
