The next steps for my current ticket have been left in my hands. If I can reproduce the problem with a softphone I am supposed to reopen the ticket with CDR records.

After more than half a year with no outbound problems I convinced my wife that we should try porting our number from Bell and have the DID fail-over to our cell phones.

Now that I've done that we haven't really had an issue with inbound but suddenly outbound has become hit or miss. I helped her setup Voip at her small business too. She seems to be the one that encounters most of the problems and has the least patience with them. We tested all the numbers in the 5 tickets we received regarding this issue and have not been able to replicate the issue this morning. So AFAIK, the issue appear to be resolved, and it appear to be limited to a few rate centers only. However, we're still awaiting for an official explanation of what happened from our CLEC.

If you experience this issue again, let us know and we'll re-route traffic ASAP.

Well, let's say it's embarrassing. I've briefied the week-end monitoring staff this morning, and asked them to try to replicate any issues they see about routing as quick as they can. I also let them know about DSL Reports. Sometimes issues are discussed here in great details. Sometimes, there's only a ticket in our support queue about a problem that is discussed by many people in a thread, so this could help pinpoint issues faster for them.

As far as I know, there was no issues with privacy, just routing messed up with ISP Telecom for some rate centers.

We'll provide more details as we receive them.

My ticket was merely asking if there were any known issues. They replied that there weren't and that if I continued to experience problems that I should re-open the ticket. My problems last week where dropped calls and the other parties claimed they heard a robot. Things seemed fine from the weekend until the middle of this past week though.

The problems have only been with outbound calls that I know of. I guess that if it makes it as far as me answering it then I know about it. I've used them for outbound for half a year now without issues. It is really just the past couple of weeks that have me worried.

They suggested trying a softphone too presumably to rule out my hardware but I've got multiple phones in different locations and they have all had problems recently that they haven't experienced before.

In a strange way, I'm happy to hear that others are having these problems too. Way back when (almost 2 years ago, I think), I was one of the biggest supporters of Voip.MS. I originally wrote the very first review of it on this website (DSLR).

But I started having problems like this making outbound calls, and neither tweaks to the ATA, nor changing servers, helped that much. That's when I started using them for inbound calls (DID service) only.

Loud static is the most common problem. Most of the time it is the person on the other end who hears it. Sometimes I have to call someone 2-3 times before it works. Or I give up and call on my cell.

My wife called me our home DID from her sub-account she uses at work, I missed the call and it went to voicemail... I have a nice recording of the loud static.

It was really bad on Thursday and Friday. I didn't notice any problem yesterday. There were quite a few problems in the week before for me too. I opened a ticket for that but I didn't follow up on it.

I opened a new ticket for my latest problems.

My wife doesn't really trust the phone any more.

When I was opening the latest ticket I was trying to get CDR info about specific calls but the website was having a really hard time getting the records. It took a really long time and when they did show up they were hours old.
