And after the homeowner payed a fortune as a upgrade they have to be all torn down. Junk is probably being to nice describing them. i usually go with comtech4s way. One in particular is, does the amp support reverse path, either passive or non-passive - NOT all amps do this. If it's doesn't, you WILL have problems with most digital boxes, cable modems or EMTA's. (I believe in most home cases, techs tend to go with passive reverse paths, as so not to overdrive the reverse back into the system)

said by gar187er:

leviton is garbage....any tech worth a S will rip that stuff outta a smartbox....
+1

Rickz0rz posted : Amps should support digital cable, since it's still technically an analog signal coming through your cable wire. The only thing that should cause an issue is the quality of the wiring, or raw numbers from the amp. Iirc, too much power can make it so signals can't go back to Comcast, or it can fry out equipment.

Someone with more knowledge, feel free to correct me. But I had an amp hooked up (8-post) that worked fine with digital cable, no problems with communication back and forth. Just had to eye signal levels. :)
