Re: Wow, a statement came today in email

I can do you guys one better. We had our billing through direct withdrawal. Well, the bank changed my credit card number but rather than that information being relayed to AT&T, all that occurred was a bounce back and AT&T saying our account was past due.

A phone call later we had given them the new number and arranged for it to be used instead of the old. Problem solved? Nope.

The next month they decided to cancel our service since the bill had not been paid! No, our giving them the correct information and their seeing the info in the system was not good enough. Our cycle was not for another five days and they could not bill us until then and - since our account was 45 days late- they were shutting us off until payment was made.....

Any wonder people why I have no doubt that AT&T is losing money big time?

the bank cant send companies credit card numbers, regardless if the company is currently doing direct withdrawal.
when your credit card # changes, it's the bank's repsponsiblity to notify you, and only you. it's your responsiblity to notify the companies that are authorized to automatically withdrawal funds for bill payments.
