Stupid part is that contracted companies are required to train their own people. Cablevision does nothing more than send the occasional memo. That's why they don't know what they're doing half the time.
I disagree. This is not brain surgery; no reason a contractor cannot install cable. Many customers do a self install.

EVERY Ultra order should automatically be done by a Cablevision employee.
Yes. Not because it is difficult, but because it is a premium customer and they should control the customer experience.
Agreed on all points. They should either deal with this as adults, realizing that people are paying $300 dollars and are expecting some modicum of professionalism. Or waive the 300$ "membership fee" as it's certainly doesn't appear as if our 300 dollars makes ANY difference in the amount of hassle an Ultra install will take.
I was a bit lucky and got it shortly after they began offering Ultra. All techs were Cablevision with a supervisor on site, but that's only because Ultra was very new.
I would prefer for them to drop that ridiculous 300 dollar "fee-for-nothing" and deal with Ultra as they deal with all other accounts. After all, isn't that the status of things today as it is?
What are people paying 300 dollars for still amazes me. Confusion, contractors, and less than the truth from Cablevision.
