re: kitchen filterThe DSL modem can be plugged into any jack the DSL phone number rings at. They provide a 2 into 1 plastic line splitter if you already have a phone device at that jack. Everything that uses the DSL phone number has to be filtered except the modem. Just because the Kitchen Wall Mount Filter has an unfiltered port should you want to use your modem in the kitchen that does not mean that you HAVE to plug the modem into that unit for your DSL to work. |

I did not even think of that. I just assumed, so to test I plugged the modem in sans filter and the dam thing worked... It would be nice if the instructions mentioned that a there is no need for the wall mount device... That would also explain why pacbell includes a line splitter so the modem can go on one side and a filter on the other.
Since PacBell does not mention that I do not need any type of filter for the I will leave the comments in my review. Good to know though |
