[southeast] Got dropped from 25Mbit to 15Mbit today, anyone else

I've always had the 15/5 FIOS Internet package, but ever since day one, my actual speeds were always 25Mbit down (just over 3 megs/sec). Today, I got dropped to 15Mbit (about 1.8 megs per sec), just wondering if this happened to anyone else? Not complaining, the extra speed was nice while it lasted, just curious.

I have the 35/35 deal (North East), I am still getting 46 down.

Yep, I'm in the same boat. I have the 15/5 plan, enjoyed the faster speeds just as you had. Sometime over the last couple days it dropped back to the advertised rates.

I guess all good things come to an end!

I'm in Philly, for what it's worth.

My 15/5 plan still has fluff.

25/25 plan here... upload has always been crap and dealing with Vz support is such a pain in the rear.. just decided it... it wasn't worth the hassles to try and get the speed i am suppose to be paying for.

What speed does this test say you're running at?

I'm in Virginia. So it looks like PA and VA are the only affected areas so far.

Exactly the same thing here (Freehold NJ), as of Sept. 16.

Peter & Mark (and anyone else affected), are you going to pay the extra $15 or whatever it is to officially upgrade to 25Mbit?

I'm thinking about it, but will probably just suffer with 15Mbit.

I have the 15/5 plan but have always enjoyed the faster speeds described by the OP.
I just checked and that is no longer the case. No more upgraded speed for me!

Technique - 15/5 is plenty for me, given the other bottlenecks in my daily internet activity.

Not having the fluff any more kind of stings... but I think I'll stick to 15/5 for now. I really did appreciate the extra speed while they offered it!

I can't say I really "need" more than the 15/5, but it was just a really nice-to-have.

I also saw my fluff disappear last week. I tried talking to them today about it, but there's nothing they could do. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Hopefully next year 25/25 will become the base package so that I can get my speed back.

I really thought that 25/25 would be the base by now, especially since it was unofficially for at least 14 months anyways.

I have 15/5 and still get 25/25. I recently got a letter though that said my price will increase from 49.99 to 54.99 after the 1 year contract ends, it looks like when that happens is when it will switch to the new 15/5 plan that doesn't have fluff.

I got my service installed on AUG 24, 2009 btw, so if it's going to change it will be very soon.

I got the same letter and mine took effect last month, so I think that's exactly what happened. We are being charged $5/month more and lost the fluff

I don't think I got a letter -- but now I know to expect one. Normally I'd be annoyed to pay an extra $5 for slower speeds, but it was really just a bonus in the first place so I can't be tooo disappointed.

I'm going to give it a couple months to see how badly I miss the faster speeds and decide then whether to pony up to the 25/25. This is probably their master plan, anyway.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, but I think I'll be fine with what I originally signed up for.

Seems like a very slow rollout of slower speeds. Makes me sad to know it's coming. =(
