How do we know they aren't using that money on box loads of twinkies or investing in Arizona swamp creation? Let's not be to quick to pass out possitive judgement here (less the thread die).
Who are we to assume such things, it's not fair and i'll not allow it.

What are they REALLY doing with the money?
Possibilities:
Remodeling the RV
Both parents already play WOW when he goes to sleep and they don't want their card associated with his account.

web filtering is responsible parenting, IMO. forces child to request access to the site and have a mature conversation about it. If a good case is made, add the site to an exemption list.

If I havea kid in highschool, playing sports. making straight A's, why would I make them work? Technically you can't make them do anything until they are 18 and boot thier asses out. That is your opinion that playing a video game is not right. It is all about how you discipline your children and how you let them manage their time, a video game has nothing to do with it. You can teach them values and responsibility without making them work and paying for their own school lunch. And yes, I did work as soon as I was able at 16, I wanted to have my own money, but it was not forced on me.
Not to get into this but I couldn't resist. You talk a good talk without having actually having a teenager. Most parents talk a good talk before hand though. You've never seen what happens to kids first hand once the 'teenager' switch kicks in. Even the best kids in the world will have these days. The difference is the good kids know how to play mom against dad or twist the system to get what they want.
