<description><![CDATA[birdfeedr posted : You said in the other forum that wireless was fine, ethernet was losing connection. Did I get that right? If that's the case, it's a problem with the router, not anything upstream.<br><br>At the command prompt when disconnected:<br>ipconfig /release<br>ipconfig /renew<br><br>If that method alone reconnects your PC, then it's a Windows problem where the PC does not refresh the DHCP lease. Have you determined the interval between failures?<br><br>Also what revision Actiontec? You can get that when you click on the System Monitoring icon on the router status page.]]></description>

<title>[Northeast] Static and not Dynamic/DHCP?</title>

<description><![CDATA[Glaice posted : I am trying to get to the bottom of this silly disconnecting issue I'm having on ethernet connections every day, namely in the evening.<br><br>The tech on Verizon chat said it had to do with DHCP for this computer but Windows networking shows the device is using DHCP..but it shows the IP address allocation this machine uses Static under router config?<br><br>I also did a default reset but didn't know what he really meant,  but plugging into a spare outlet may have fixed..putting it back on Dynamic?<br><br>I hope I did fix it, as this thread is kinda for input just in case things aren't fully functional.]]></description>
