is there reason to upgrade to a dvd-rom drive, besides watching movies? i know that some software comes in dvd format, but do you think that i will need one in the future?

I have a DVD-ROM with my new Dell pc.. I opted for it instead of a CD-ROM drive. I can use both CD-ROMs and DVDs in the drive.
