thanks a lot. i've rebooted several times since the problem with the undeletable wma file, so i'll try safe mode. also, my pc recognizes the ecp lpt1 port in my device manager. must be the hp drivers then. thanks again i'll be back to let you know if i got rid of that annoying file.
