Re: [HD] What is the latest Comcast HD-DVR receiver?

In Boston, you surely have DCX3400's, especially since you're overbuilt by RCN in the city and compete with Fios in the suburbs, but down here in CT, the newest thing we have is an ancient DCT6416, so it varies a lot by individual market.

Does anyone know why you can't just plop 3400's on an older system?

Moto haven't sold DCTs since July 2007, ever since the "seperable security", "integration bad" aka "CableCARD" required rule went into effect.

DCHs were the DCT replacement.

I can't believe there hasn't been enough customer influx and box replacements to warrant new box purchases in over 3-1/2 years.

Comcast has lost over 1 million cable customers in the last two years. »www.philly.com/philly/bu ··· es_.html

In the grand scheme, and the number of new customers they have.. it all comes out to a wash / positive for them.

They probably have moved them from other markets. Interestingly enough, this is a fairly spread out suburban/rural area, but the customers are, for the most part, fairly affluent. The problem is, that very few leave for satellite, and U-Verse is still fairly limited, so they aren't doing a lot for upgrades, and what they do is slow.
