[DSL] Having issues with Teksavvy, very slow

I had the same problem in January 2011, my speeds were beyond slow and then the problem, went a way for a few months.
I even had a bell tech here to fix a broken jack.

I recently did a speed test and I am only getting about 1280k down and 200k up. I am supposedly paying for a 5 meg connection. Up until a month ago I was getting about 4500k down.

Filters are on all my phones, but it seems that there may be something wrong with my line, I really don't know what the issue could be.

I am hearing impaired and really frustrated by all this. Is there anything that can be done?

Is it your sync rate or internet problem?

Check modem stats.
I would guess the modem is syncing at 1.5m because of noise on the line. If that's the case, have bell fix it (after you've eliminated your own wires to be the cause, or they'll charge a ridiculous fee)

Depends on the modem.

If it's a 2wire, you can try »gateway.2wire.net

If its a speedtouch, you can get DMT (search forum)
Google your model and you should be able to find the user interface URL.

I know our line was recently toast, had to get bell to string up a new one from the street.
Our sync was a solid 5056/800 with ~35 attenuation.
Couple weeks back, atten jumped to 45+ and sync rate was all over the place and frequent disconnects.

If your line is similarly affected, but not as bad, you'll see a slower sync rate, but not necessarily disconnects. Phone will probably also have audible buzzing/crackling/etc if there's something wrong (as suspected, since you said you got 4500 up until now)

Thank you. The problem is the jack that Bell "fixed" in January. I am going to have them out again.

wow! this sounds like exactly my problem

i'm just fed up with Bell, and don't want any of their contractors coming near my house

the ironic thing it was when i was with Bell i got maxed 7 Mbps down and 800 kbps up

but shortly days after switching to teksavvy with no changes what so ever on my phone system or modem, or filters

the connection dropped from 4.5 Mbps to like barely 2.4 Mbps

that's like wayyyy too much of a coincidence, my hunch is that Bell is traffic shapping people on Tekksavvy

I am hearing impaired, do want me to email you my info?, any additional info I can email you.

Also when it rains or there is any moisture outside this is what happens to my connection, it becomes barely usable.

Any info you need just post in the forum and i'll get back to you.
