Keep in mind that just because a DSL ISP advertises a speed such as "1.5/256" does not mean that is what you will get. Several factors will play into your actual speeds with ADSL. First how far do you live from the C/O?

The 1.5/256 they mention are only what is possible with an Ideal location, line condition, etc....
Most that I know rarely get that 1.5 (unless they live right next door to the Central Office (C/O).

$ for $ cable is generally much faster on the downstream than ADSL.

Just thought I would let you know. There is more detailed info here on this site (Broadband aka DSLReports) about all types of DSL and what you can expect etc... Rebuild could refer to any replacement from the head end out to the customer... you may or may not see any activity close to you if your runs are fairly recent.

Normally no, the cable run down your street and to the house are fairly short, so they leave copper that is in good condition in place.

I do on having a seperate line for the cable modem once it arrives
They probably will run a new cable from a splitter outside the house to the cable modem.

the projected start date for internet is late spring no biggie I been waiting 3 yrs whats a little more

as for the digital cable suppose to start next 30 days starting up in greenwood ind ( 10 miles north) of here
