anon posted : I have simular problems, I am in the Atlanta area (Tucker, GA.)
Right next to the Clear Tower. I unplug the modem and re-boot.
I then get internet, after 20 minutes or so it get extreme slow or disconnects. They sent me a new modem for (9.95) and I still have the same problem. Most of the tech support people I get are off-shore and they are not to dedicated to resolve issues, just get rid of you doing the same trouble shooting over and over until you get tired. I have had this problem going on 2 weeks. If you people from Clear really read this, resolve this problem which I belive it has to do with throttling.

doofmaczemy posted : Mikalares,
I'm all for your cause against Clear (Their very existence gives me bad vibes, too), but it sounds like, based on your story, you use 75% email and chat and then maybe 25% phone. I advise you to "up the ante" and reverse your approach... use 75% phone support and 25% email/ chat, but also demand *every time you call* to escalate your issue to a higher level, or just ask to speak to a supervisor... anyone will answer that phone, but it's hierarchy and not just anyone complaining is going to get attention.

mikalares posted : The first thread is here:

»forums.clear.com/clearco ··· to_tower

Notice how they marked it solved when it wasn't?

I called in like they told me to. Tech support that time around told me that there was no outage in my area so now I'm getting a new and unnecessary modem on Monday and have to be arsed with sending the old one that still works back.

About an hour later, I find out that there is, indeed, still an outage in my area, so I go back to the forum and start a new thread titled: Outage in 41018 with one question: When can I expect this outage to be fixed?

Nothing rude at all. I get an email stating my second thread has been deleted for 'spam'. This is after they marked my first thread solved without answering my last question. When I tried to reply on the first thread after the second was deleted, it wouldn't let me and told me I was banned. I'm still banned today. I have made some complaints on the forum, a few and they've been few and far between. I've said many good things as well. If you look at my post history you can see I am far from being a 'spammer'.

I'm sorely disappointed and I haven't received a reply back from the following email to the email address my ban notice told me to contact:

I am offended beyond belief that I was banned from your forum for asking legitimate questions. This morning my home modem disconnected from the tower and would not reconnect. I posted to the forum and then engaged in a chat troubleshooting session with one of your techs. They told me there was no outage. Then they proceeded to process a replacement home modem. When my son came home and I found our mobile device wasn't working either, I called and found out there IS an outage in the area. I posted to the forum again asking when I could expect this outage to be addressed and got BANNED for SPAM? Please.. resolve this issue and someone tell me when I can expect my service to be restored.

My service has since been restored, but I'm still banned from posting to the forums. Unbelievable that they treat paying customers this way.
