I find that the tapcons work satisfactorily in cement block but in a concrete floor situation, I will use anchors.

It's been my experience that tapcons are not the way to go with cured, dense concrete... but work very well in coarser, concrete blocks or brick.

Same here.. Well, I haven't tried'em in blocks or bricks, but I did have a few break off in dense concrete. I wouldn't trust'em to come out nicely once you remove the wall. Chances are, you'll need to play with the angle-grinder.

In any case, buy/rent/borrow a hammer drill. It'll save you lots of cussing and swearing. Actually it'll be stupid-easy with one.
