Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA: Any more HD channels planned?

I'm currently a subscriber on Dish Network and I really want to switch to Comcast but my area (Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA) is still missing a few key HD channels:

GSN HD
BBCA HD

We received our "World of More" update a few months ago and everybody I spoke with says that all of analogs have been cut several months ago.

However, I just saw that Montgomery County, PA (very close to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton!) just received a bunch of channels including GSN HD!!

Can anybody give me _any_ information if my area might receive them?

Montgomery County is in the Philly area. Not really close to Wilkes-Barre...

Yeah, I looked on the map and it appeared to be closer so I got excited.

Oh well.

Does anybody think that Wilkes-Barre will get any new HD channels in the near future though?

I thought Wilkes-Barre was served by Service Electric

Anyway Montgomery County, PA is under a different Comcast Management group. Scranton as far north east PA as it is, is actually (and oddly) managed by the Comcast of Central PA authority. So keep your eyes on the Central PA updates thread and keep the ears to the ground when these other Central PA managed systems get updated (because yours would then be soon to follow): Lebanon, Lancaster, York, Reading, Pottsville, Williamsport, Hershey, Harrisburg

While its nice that Montco area has a few more HD additions, the fact is they are under pressure because of competition with Verizon FIOS.

Also sometimes Hershey and Harrisburg will get more HD sooner because they have a little more bandwidth (860+ MHz vs 750+ MHz) and they have some Fios competition as well.

Thanks for the information!

However, I noticed that York, PA has a whole lot more HD than Wilkes-Barre. For example, they have both GSN HD and BBCA HD and have had them for quite a while I believe. (6+ months at least)

(Also, Service Electric does service parts of Northeast PA such as Mountain Top, but most of the area is Comcast)

And are now blowing past FIOS in terms of HD channels...

Hey, sofaking3 I glad to hear that your excited about joining Comcast in the Near future, but even though I am insider, I do not drink comcast ""cool-aide" either i am the strait up serious (Mole) guy around here!!!! So my next statement is probably going to sound like a "buzz-kill" but it just the facts!!!!

I can tell you with 100% certainly that York does not have GSN HD at Channel 924, (Was added first in Harrisburg, then Hershey, Lebanon, Reading, Pottsville and then down south to Lancaster, because these were Motorola Systems and Subsystems and not SA Systems) (Not yet in York, High Rock or Hanover) and No one in the Central PA zone has BBC America HD since we have not enable 4 channels digital yet, but when we do it will be at 1225, and it is not yet tested in this zone either, there not adding this one until Freedom Region is completed, and that is not scheduled until 1st quarter (March) of 2012!!! Long Wait people!!!

Freedom Region in PA just consists of Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Chester and Delaware counties!!!

While at least you learn a little of the distribution system of Comcast systems without me typing a super long statement!!
