JDell posted : Reddwyng,

My review is at http://www.dslreports.com/comments/361.

You might also consider switching to @Home cable.

I have 608/128 with good pings. Since I was stuck off-line for about 5 months, I did a lot of research. If you check out Dr. Ping in the Tools section of DSLReports
http://www.dslreports.com/beta/doctorping/VA

you'll see that I scored an average ping of 62, however, the majority of people who have @home in our area have lower average pings. Not only that, @Home offers 1.5M bandwidth and it's cheaper ($40/mo.)

Unfortunately, @Home is not scheduled to upgrade the cable internet services in my area of Arlington until early next year. Currently, cable offered in my area is about 400K down but I would have to use a 56K modem over the phone line for upload, which sucks, cause then I'ld need a second line anyway, plus it's $50/mo. Go figure.

Anyway, Good luck.

JDell posted : Lost my DSL in July (Flashcom) when I moved. Tried other ISP's like Earthlink. No luck. Based on recommendations from some folks here on dslreports, I finally tried Capunet. Glad I listened. They got me set up quickly. Great pings in Quake3 (30-60ms) on servers within 12 hops.
