Re: [DVR] TiVos Dropping from Wifi/Router Suggestions

Check your transmit levels at pa.speedtest,rcn.net, if transmit is to high or low your modem maybe dropping.
If modem is dropping, it will receive new IP address, and if your router is not refreshing new IP address from modem.
You are refreshing it by power cycling it.
If this is the case, you will need a Tech to come out and correct.

One of my network bands is always functioning (2.4 or 5 ghz). Given this fact, could the modem be the problem? I also have a desktop tower wired to my router, and it stays on-line the whole time.

PS....after a couple weeks of stability, I woke up to my 5 ghz band being unavailable...but 2.4 ghz was there and functioning normally.

Negative, the modem is beyond it. Kinda like if we reboot a router on the backbone it won't affect your tivo in your house. But if your dumping the bands your tivo could be getting jacked because of interference causing it to go crazy.
