You may need to replace the hamsters more often for a busy modem than for an idle modem.

Yes, the ARRIS TM402P is a DOCSIS 2.0 eMTA, but it is not indicated as an EOL device.

Which HSI package are you using with it?

Yes, I would agree.

Unless the eMTA's electronics are affected by something like a voltage surge into one of its interfaces, overheating due to poor ventilation, etc., it will most likely only need to be replaced due to becoming obsolete by changes in technology, and no longer being supported by the network, i.e., an "End-of-Life" (EOL) device: »customer.comcast.com/hel ··· devices/
