[TWC] IntelligentHome Netgear Router Password???I recently had IntelligentHome installed. It came with a new Netgear WNR1000 router.
Cable modem is connected to the new router, new router is connected to my router (WNDR3700)
Problem: I can no longer RDP into my home PC from external because the new Netgear router is completely locked down.
The default username and password for the router won't let me in...so I called support.
They, point-blank, told me they will not give me the credentials for "MY OWN SECURITY"....I just need to forward a damn port!! They went on further to tell me that THEY don't even know what the username and password is.
I call BS on that...however, I wanted to see if anyone else had IntelligentHome, or this particular router from TWC and knew the credentials to get in.
They told me I'd never be able to log in...but I laughed at that...I've always got Medusa/Hydra to help me out there.
So....before I get to hacking the username and password on my Linux box....anybody have anything helpful to provide?
P.S. - Resetting the router to defaults is not an option. It is highly pre-configured for the security system and I'd have no clue as to how to reconfigure.
Thanks in Advance! |

My advice is to use your own router, have them bridge theirs and no longer worry about it. That way you have 100% control over your router, functions and password, and don't have to deal with anyone to get anything done. |

What about connecting the modem to your router, then connecting the intellihome router to your personal router?
modem->your router->intelligent home router. |

I actually would recommend you use two modems. One that runs the security system and another one for Internet. Clearly no one is going to allow you access to a security system.

Yeah - So far I'm thinking the second modem is maybe the best way to go. That is how they USED to set-up IntelligentHome..but have recently stopped and have just been using a second router.
Unfortunately, bridging is not an option. (They will not allow it) Daisy-chaining the other direction....eh....that would be possible, but not sure what effect that may or may not have on the security system...
Still....the password would be optimal.... |

Sorry, I misread. Intelligent home has it's own modem you do not get access to at all. You need to have another modem in the house for your internet. |

They USED to provide a second modem....now it's optional. They don't give it to you by default anymore. They just hook up another router to your existing router.... |
