Start.ca: IMAP support? With IDLE support? Does mail.start.ca support IMAP ? If so, does the IMAP service support "IDLE" (push notifications) ?
Thanks -Mark

I dislike their email system. The look is bad, outdated and old. One thing I really wish they improve is their email system.
Oh did you know?, we also have to give the password to the agent on the phone and use that password. How can I trust that? I just can't! I can't change the password on my own. This is 2013 and not 1999!!!!!!!
Sorry I had to say this as this irritated me when they asked for my password! |

Sorry I had to say this as this irritated me when they asked for my password! You do realize that if an agent/admin really wanted access to your email, they could just set the password themselves or log in to the admin system and look at every email you have, in today's traditional "secure" systems?? |

My advice: Don't get hooked on your ISP's e-mail. If for some reason you decide to change to another ISP, or you simply move out of their territory, then updating your e-mail address everywhere is a major pain.
And rednekcowboy is absolutely right regarding passwords. |

Yea, thats true, but, i also do not support their way of how e-mail works. Giving your password to support via e-mail or over the phone? No WAY |

Oh I wasn't aware of that!! Darn *Facepalm* Come on guy, I am not talking about that am I? I am simply talking about giving the passwords to the agents!!! |

Reminder of my years working in ISP support... People leaving us for our competitors, freaking out because they couldn't take there email address with them, without paying a monthly or yearly fee.
Actual customer quote: "Your holding my email address hostage, I'm going to report you to the CRTC"
I really suggest against ever tying your address to a specific ISP. |
