Anyone else in Windsor area not able to connect?Can't get any internet connection through Starts DNS servers this morning...can connect using a proxy however. My VOIP phone is working fine either way so I know its not anything here or beyond Start.
Now its working...very bazaar. First I couldn't connect to anything, then everything but Start and DSLReports.
Okay, now my speed has dropped to 15/1. Did a modem reboot earlier guess I'll have to do it again. |

I've had that too, in the wee hours of the morning,maybe once or twice per month, no biggie. I , also (and possibly) others have had some "profile" issues (via cogeco ?), in Windsor, which were solved a few days ago, and all is fine again. Kingsville is not exactly Windsor(area), but then again, I'm in Central Windsor so ...? But yep, I rememebr before (my) profile upgrade verification, I could get everywhere(albeit slowwwly), except for start.ca, dslreports? - which I found weird too.
I completely depend on my VOIP for everything. But obviously, to eliminate any usual suspects, good-reliable-PC -to- Modem directly, no routers, voip, ..., bringing it down. You likely know this as well. This may help, but maybe, if you haven't done so already, having your "profile" verified for where you are located is required ? |

For the speed give Start a call and have them make sure that you're on the right profile.
As for the DNS server issues, I recommend using a 3rd party server.
Here are the ones that I use; 8.8.4.4 - Google 4.2.2.6 - Level 3 208.67.220.220 - OpenDNS
In my Tomato router I have those servers set as my static DNS and than I have Start's DNS servers setup as backup. |
