my galaxy s3 can't play back .wav files?I have a Galaxy S3 and I get voicemails from my office via email that are in .wav format. When I click the attachment I get a message pop up that says that audio file format is not supported on the device. Really!!!???? A format that has been around 30 years and my phone can't play it back? Am I missing something? |

I had this same issue with my company email. The best player for this is WavPlayer: » play.google.com/store/ap ··· heWVyIl0. However, after some research and speaking to my work IT dept. They can actually change the wav format so that the wav files will play with the native Android wav player. |

I bet it's a licensing issue. Remember the original xbox couldn't play dvd's until you bought a seperate media package which included a remote. They did that so that they would'nt have to pay a per unit licensing fee which would've increased the cost of the xbox. |

Can you play back WAV. files that are already on your desktop PC? I have many songs in wav. format that I ripped off Youtube videos using Audacity. |

I have just uploaded wav. format songs to my "Music" on my Samsung Galaxy S3 and have tested all of them as ringtones and they played and worked like a charm, both in my phone's native music player and as ringtones.
I don't know why you guys cannot play them back, I just proved that the phone can play wav. files with stock software, no need for gimmicks or apps. |

That may very well work but it would take longer to do it that way then to download and use remote wav to listen to wav files from email. I had the same issue with listening to wav voicemails from magicjack via email (GNEX) Then they came out with the MJ app and i didn't need to listen that way.

Remote Wav was the ticket; free version worked fine playing wav voicemails directly from mail. THANKS for the info! |
