<description><![CDATA[Zinc64 posted : Had Optik installed here in Comox (BC) just this Monday. Tech ran Fiber in from street. They did the neighborhood Fiber last year. <br><br>Installed Fiber modem and Actiontec modem/router. Used Cat 5 to wire up 3 TVs and all PCs. Used the existing switch I already had for the PCs.<br><br>Tech said he usually makes a network from the existing coax...but ours was too old. Plus I had Cat5 running everywhere for the PCs.<br><br>The Optik TV boxes have both coax and ethernet inputs...so they can use either.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[Tornado15550 posted : For both TV and Internet, Shaw uses cable. Optik TV (and internet) uses an Ethernet port. So, it can come out of the same outlet if it also has a cat5e connection. Telus Optik uses VDSL2, and in newer homes you recieve Fiber To The Home (FTTH), something that Shaw is still testing in select neighborhoods.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[anon posted : Does the Optik tv service use dsl? I have shaw tv at the moment, would Optik use the same outlet on my wall to receive signal? I am considering going on the 3 year deal with bundled internet and tv, i do already have internet 25 though.]]></description>
