Re: Here we go again. Li-Ion Overheated in Mitsubishi vehicle

I wasn't aware that Honda used Lithium-ion in any of their vehicles.

With the number of hybrid and electric vehicles that Honda produces there is bound to be some variety in battery technology. A 2010 article on hybridcars.com talked about Honda shifting to Lithium batteries for hybrids.

All Honda Civic hybrids use lithium-ion battery pack designed by their GS Yuasa joint venture.

Hyundai was the first to go Lithium around 2007 but they use in-house (Korean design) Lithium Polymer cells. They also provide lifetime warranty for the battery pack.

Wrong

They obviously wrote "except the 2012 Civic hybrid" before the 2013 model year came out.

You can easily deduce that all new Civic Hybrids you can buy today from Honda showrooms use lithium-ion battery packs made by their joint venture factory with GS Yuasa. Also applies to new plug-in hybrid models of Fit, Accord, etc.
