Comcast XFINITY → Comcast Charging a VPN Fee.

I just heard about this today? Does anyone have any information on this new charge? I hope other ISPs don't follow suit and think they should charge for this service.

Does anyone think it is possible to lobby against and such fee? I apologize if this is already in another discussion thread. Please point me to the thread that discuses this service charge.

It is not a fee, it is a different service level. Comcast Pro, about $99.00 a month with some extra goodies. VPN on your reg. service is a no-no, but I bet a lot of folks do it and do not care. If they flag you, I guess they could stop your service. They figure if you VPN you are a heavy hitter and can afford the rate or that your Co. will pay since you are a very important dude. BTW, this subject has been talked to death, do a search for VPN. LOL or lol, whatever that means.
