Someone correct me if I am wrong. The blue indicator denotes a connection to Google Servers. I do not think it affects general wifi or network activity. That being said I have seen the same symptom on my GNEX here and there. If it starts to annoy me (I like the perdy blue ) I just throw it into airplane mode and back.

When mine are gray there is no internet or network activity.
