I think one of the key features in addition to access to 3rd party OTT is the ability to pause and rewind live TV. From a TiVo user perspective it means I only have to deal with one CC/TA for my whole home. I have two Mini's attached to my Premiere XL4.

Multi-Room Viewing with Tivo

anon posted : In lieu of the astronomically absurd Whole House DVR pricing, I'm trying to find another solution so that I can get away from using the XBox as an extender for the slowly decaying WMC.

I had a question regarding using a TiVo on BHN, specifically surrounding how the TiVo multi-room viewing works. Does it stream the show from the original recording device or is it copied and played? As I understand it, BHN marks just about every channel with the Copy Once flag (save for the locals) making the copy and play method not work.

Multi-room viewing is critical (as is 4 tuners) and I just can't bring myself to pay $48/mo (+$8 for a normal converter that would sit in a closet) for DVR "service." While TiVo isn't much cheaper, at least there is actually a service provided.

Thanks in advance.
